Waiting for Better Weather

The weather forecaster said it was going to be BIG wind and for once they were right.  We’re tied up at Morro Bay Yacht Club alongside the sailing vessel, Victoria.  Peter and John added more fenders between the two boats so we won’t smash into each other as the boats rock and roll.  I was down below reading a book.  Peter, John and Mark are on the dock strategizing our approach on Point Conception.  I stopped to take a picture of the wind anometer.

Peter went out to the jetty to investigate.

Peter the Gadabout

Today I sent Peter to the post office to mail some important documents.  A four block walk, he returned 3 hours later.  I asked, “What on earth took you so long?”  It turns out he was visiting with people along the way.  I had no idea I was married to a gadabout.  He loves to stop and talk to people in the parking lot, on the sidewalk, in the stores, on the beach, at the park.  Anywhere anyone will stop to talk with him.  He says he was never able to take the time before and now he is so happy to be able to slow down and visit.
