Woke up: Off the coast of Pt. Conception

Went to sleep: Santa Barbara, CA

Once we rounded Point Conception, Peter was infinitely more at ease. He had been worrying over this particular passage for a while.  Point Conception has been called the Cape Horn of the Pacific but tonight it was completely benign.

Suddenly, we are not travelling south along the coast of Oregon/California. We’ve turned the corner and we’re heading east between the mainland and the Channel Islands.  We’re officially in southern California.

"Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore."

“Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore.”
