Woke up: Santa Barbara, CA

Went to sleep: Santa Barbara, CA

Our anchorage is quite rocky. First the boat rolls side to side.  Then the boat rolls bow to stern.  Then the boat rolls side to side.  Then the boat rolls bow to stern.  The rocking itself might not be too bad.  But, the banging of everything in the house clanging from one side of the cupboard to the other wakes me from sleep and keeps me awake most of the night.

I’m tired and feel sea sick in the morning. I need to get off this boat and go to shore.

Peter has an ongoing challenge with the percolator. The race is to see if Peter can unlash the dinghy from its storage location along the handrail, liberate it from its case, use the hand pump to blow up the pontoons, mount the motor and lower the whole thing into the water before the coffee has perked to a dark roast.  Some days Peter is the winner and some days the percolator takes the prize.

Soon we were off in search of solid ground. I still felt woozy most of the day.  I purchased original formula Dramamine at Rite Aid.  The package warned, “May cause drowsiness.”  Great!  I’ll take two.
