Cleaning Yet Again
Some of you may think all I ever do is clean this boat. In my defense, consider the small square footage. If a person tracks in the same amount of dirt every time they come in or dribbles the same number of crumbs every time they eat a cracker in a 3,000 square foot house, the concentration of the same volume of debris in a 300 square foot house is tenfold. Therefore, I have to clean 10 times as much just to come out even.
In addition, I’m going to have another woman sleeping, showering and preparing meals on board. Eeeeeck! I cleaned in places that had not previously seen the light of day. And then I found more places.
To celebrate, we had our friends, John and Cass, Victoria, and Mark and Deanna Speakeasy, over for dinner. I like to show off Penelope when she’s super clean plus I can’t make the refrigerator close until I get rid of some of this food!
Cass brought appetizers and Deanna brought a salad. We shared some wine and some beer, listened to 70’s pop music, and talked and laughed the night away. We are thoroughly enjoying our new friends.
At one point in the evening, Cass reminded me how lonesome and depressed I was a month ago in Morro Bay. I remembered, also, Cass was the first woman I found to hang out with a month after we began this voyage. We spontaneously applauded Cass and the progress I have made over the past several weeks.
