Woke up: Bahia Tortugas, Mexico
Went to sleep: Bahia Tortugas, Mexico
Change of Plans
The fleet was scheduled to leave Bahia Tortugas today. Unfortunately, a tropical storm named Vance was hovering off the coast of Mazatlán. It was unclear the direction Vance might go or the intensity of winds he might achieve so the Grand PooBah decided to hold back the fleet for a day.
Everyone was grateful for another day of rest and more opportunity to explore the town. Peter, Alex and Krista decided to take the surf board to the beach. I wanted time at the Internet Café to update our blog. We had breakfast, packed our go-to-shore bag and got into the dinghy. They dropped me off at the pier and headed on around the point.
I really enjoy experiencing the sites, the sounds, and the people of this foreign country. I love to observe how they live. Not too much different than at home. It’s Saturday and the children are out of school. People are walking around, driving around and stopping to visit with their friends. I walked along the dusty streets smiling and greeting people with “Ole!” and “Buenos Dias”.
Peter stopped to help some men with their truck.
At home we made fish tacos for dinner. Guacamole, grated cabbage, tarter sauce, barbequed Mahi Mahi all on a lightly toasted corn tortilla. We eat like queens around here.
