Looking for Up
I haven’t had my heart rate above 90 bpm since my 30 day membership at Gold’s Gym in Boise expired. So, it was, with utmost gratitude, I realized Zihuatanejo is surrounded by steep hills. Plus, I’m Capricorn – the goat – I have a need to climb up to the highest point I can find and look out.
Peter took me to the only slab of concrete in the near vicinity that looked like a dinghy dock. Fortunately, it was near the hillside I wanted to climb. I had the VHF radio and said I would call when I wanted a ride home. Turns out there was sidewalk all the way up to the most glamorous homes on the top of the hill. I met a lady on the path. She said, “Come to my Villa tomorrow, I’ll make us coffee.”
There are many paths to up. I became nostalgic for my workout on the stairs at the World Trade Center. How I miss that 19 flights up and 19 flights down trying to catch up with Cynthia.
There were a couple of false starts. I tried to go to the top of these stairs………
And then to the top of these stairs ……………
Then to the top of these stairs . . . . . .
But, eventually, I found a view of Penelope from the top.
