Bye Bye, My Friend

Carol had a number of goals for her first visit to Zihuatanejo.  She wanted to purchase leather huaraches, a tea shirt and silver earrings.  She wanted to eat pork, chicken, fish and fresh squeezed orange juice.  By Sunday she had done it all plus been scared out of her wits on our trip to Isle Grande.

DSC01644We bought a roasted chicken with rice, beans, and slaw from a street vendor.  We took our lunch into a nearby cantina and the bartender obliged us with plates and napkins.

With time to spare before her plane, I suggested we jump onto the City bus for a trip to Ixtapa.  We finished our lunch, generously tipped the woman behind the bar and got change for the bus fare.

We paid ten pesos each and took seats next to the window.  We rode the bus 5 miles to Ixtapa (Playa Linda) and rode the same bus back without ever getting off.  The $0.75 cent tour.

At 3:00 pm we said “hasta la vista” as Carol boarded the taxi for the airport.
